Two days, three rapes in capital

NEW DELHI: Three cases of rape of minor girls, two of them below the age of four, have come to light in the national capital in the past two days, police said on Saturday.

In all the three cases, the accused were known to the victims and their families.

A two-and-half-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her teenaged neighbour in Nangloi locality of west Delhi on Friday, police said.

The accused Rajendra (18) was arrested following a complaint filed by the girl's parents in Nangloi police station, police said, adding a medical examination has confirmed rape.

In the second incident, a four-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a labourer in Sultanpuri area of north-west Delhi on Friday.

Keema was arrested following a complaint by the girl's parents on Friday.

A ten-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her mother's cousin on Thursday who is staying near her house in Shastri Nagar in north Delhi.

The accused Mahender allegedly assaulted her at his home and the incident came to light on Friday when she told her parents about it.

A medical examination has confirmed the rape and Mahender was arrested, police said.
