Trains on Delhi-Howrah line delayed

KANPUR: Nearly 18 trains especially on the Delhi-Howrah line were delayed as the tracks near Juhi yard, some eight kms from here, have not been cleared after the derailment of Jodhpur-Howrah Express.

The tracks are expected to be cleared by tonight, railway officials said.

The officials said work is on to remove the derailed engines and bogies.

The delayed trains include Purshottam Express, Pushpak Express, Tufan Express, Sangam Express, Barauni Express, Gwalior Express and Shramshakti Express.

on Tuesday, 32 passengers were injured when two engines and four bogies of Express train derailed near Juhi yard.

The injured have been admitted in the Halet, Ursala and Loko railway hospitals, they said adding that while three passengers lost their limbs, the condition of seven injured remains critical.

The district administration has arranged for meals and treatment for all the passengers, they said.
